TEACHER & STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK
The Lilja community donated over $3,500 towards teacher and staff appreciation week last week. With those funds, we were able to provide something special every day for all 86 school employees. Arancini from Lola’s, a generous breakfast spread, cupcakes from Maine Girl Cupcakes, lunch from Sweetgreen, and a final additional cash gift on Friday. THANK YOU! We have received so many messages of gratitude from the staff – your donations really made a difference.
LILJA CARNIVAL
The Lilja carnival is coming up on June 4! This is a huge town-wide event and we are looking for volunteers to help plan it. Specific areas are sponsor relations, games and prizes, ticketing and sales, and promotional outreach. This is a really fun experience and a lot to bring together in a few short weeks. Please consider joining our main committee and email pto@liljapto.org to volunteer. We really need more volunteers or we will have to cancel the event.
MOSIAC PROGRESS
The installation of the mosiac has begun on the front of the school!
pto BOARD - WE WANT YOU!
According to the PTO by-laws, our executive board needs to turn over after this year. We are retiring! There are 5 positions available, all are described in this document with instructions on how to apply. Our next public meeting is on Tuesday, May 30th at 7 pm where the voting in will take place.
A note for anyone interested: all PTO boards are unique. The only rule is that all actions must be for the benefit of Lilja School. The new board will have guidance from past directors (if desired) but will be free to govern itself and make decisions that are best for the members. There is no precedent on events, fundraisers, etc. New board members with NEW ideas are welcome!
